A1 Musical Theatre is excited to announce auditions for our Spring performance of Seussical Jr! Whether you're a seasoned actor or new to the stage, we welcome you to showcase your talent on Friday, August 22nd at 9 AM at Anchor Bible Church - 1288 N. Bonnie Cove Ave., Covina.

Get ready to bring these iconic characters to life:​

​

 Main Characters

• Horton the Elephant – A kind-hearted elephant who hears the Whos.

• The Cat in the Hat – A playful narrator and trickster who guides the story.

• Jojo – A young thinker from Whoville with a big imagination (can be cast as male or female).

• Gertrude McFuzz – A sweet bird with a one-feather tail who loves Horton.

• Mayzie LaBird – A flashy, selfish bird who leaves Horton with her egg.

• Mr. Mayor – Jojo’s father and leader of Whoville.

• Mrs. Mayor – Jojo’s concerned and loving mother.
   

 Supporting Characters

• Sour Kangaroo – A sassy and skeptical kangaroo who doesn’t believe Horton.

• Young Kangaroo – Her joey, follows her lead.

• Bird Girls (3 or more) – A trio of stylish narrators who support Mayzie and comment on the story.

• Wickersham Brothers (3 or more) – Mischievous monkeys who torment Horton.

 Whos of Whoville

• Ensemble of Whos – Citizens of Whoville, including Jojo’s classmates, townspeople, etc.

​

 Other Ensemble Characters

• Jungle Creatures – Animals who live in the Jungle of Nool.

• Fish, Yertle the Turtle, Vlad Vladikoff – Fun cameo characters.

• Hunters, Circus Animals and more – Various ensemble roles that support big musical numbers.
